For years, QUPAQ has been the trusted name in tray denesting, handling, and loading solutions for food productions. Now, we are taking a step forward with the launch of the QUPAQ Lid Applicator – a completely new product category designed to meet growing industry demands and set new standards for packaging automation.

“Our customers have been asking for a lid applicator,” says Preben Flæng, Product Development Engineer at QUPAQ. “We saw the potential and decided to create a stand-alone machine that can also integrate seamlessly with other applications.” This innovation marks a significant milestone for QUPAQ, and it strengthens our commitment to smarter, more efficient production solutions.

Addressing Food Packaging Industry Challenges

The QUPAQ Lid Applicator addresses two critical challenges in the food packaging industry: repetitive manual work and high operational costs. “By automating the lid application process, it removes repetitive work and makes the process far more cost-effective,” Preben explains.

Achieving this required a design that could handle a wide range of tray sizes and shapes – a challenge that QUPAQ embraced. “We needed a machine that could do almost everything,” Preben notes. “That was a huge challenge, but we’ve succeeded in building a solution that can manage an incredible variety of trays.”

What Sets the QUPAQ Lid Applicator Apart?

The adaptability and ease of use are what set the QUPAQ Lid Applicator apart. The machine integrates effortlessly into existing production lines, offers quick changeovers between products, and is very simple to operate.

“It’s easy to fit into production lines, highly flexible, and allows fast product switches,” says Preben. One standout feature is its automatic changeover capability. By selecting a recipe on the control panel, the machine adjusts itself to the current product without manual intervention, which is a major time-saver – especially for busy production environments.

This level of automation not only improves workflow, but it also boosts overall efficiency. “Customers can expect higher output and better profitability,” Preben adds.

Sustainability in Mind

Sustainability was also a key consideration in the design process. “We focused on power consumption and using eco-friendly components. In this regard, everything is made from food-grade materials, and only a minimum amount of plastic is used,” Preben explains. “There’s only one motor driving four belts, which makes it very energy-efficient. Therefore, the machine aligns with the industry’s push toward greener solutions,” he adds.
